The LEARN module provides participants with important information about library resources and services offered by Kean University's Nancy Thompson Learning Commons. LEARN consists of 4 self-paced units and the LEARN Final Quiz. The units cover the following topics:
Unit 1: Developing Topics and Using Reference Resources
Unit 2: Selecting and Searching Databases
Unit 3: "Credibility Continuum": Identifying Valid Sources
Unit 4: Appropriate Use of Scholarly Works
Each unit features tutorials that will provide opportunities to practice skills that relate to seeking, evaluating, and using information for educational, career, and personal purposes. Overall, these skills will help participants prepare for lifelong learning.
Students and faculty members can access the LEARN Blackboard module in one of two ways:
- Blackboard
- Most students and faculty members have been enrolled automatically in LEARN and will see “LEARN: Library Essentials for Access and Research Navigation” listed under “My Courses” within their own Blackboard accounts.
- Students and faculty members who do not see “LEARN: Library Essentials for Access and Research Navigation” listed under “My Courses” may “self-enroll” by following the steps demonstrated in the LEARN Self-Enroll Video or on the LEARN Self-Enroll handout.
- Canvas
